Node.js is an open-source, cross-platform, back-end JavaScript runtime environment that runs on the V8 engine and executes JavaScript code outside a web browser.
When we talk about web development we think about SERVER and CLIENT. SERVER where we store all our resources and the CLIENT who access the resources using browser[chrome, internet-exploree, safary etc] or any other mean.
Basically the code for web development are based on server side scripting language or client side. Java script [don’t get confused with java] was earlier implemented as client side scripting language and used to execute on client machine only. In early 2009 Ryan Dahi initiate and implemented java script as sever side scripting language with joint collaboration with Netscape. Since then, it never look back to accelerate itself as prime server script. Now a days, almost all website are designed and developed in nodejs because of its high speed, security and sustainability.
